About Snake Snack
Snake Snack is a free snake game on a 16 by 9 grassy grid. Your snake starts 3 squares long and never stops moving. Tap or click above, below or beside its head to turn that way, or use the arrow keys. Just as in the classic Snake, each apple makes you one square longer. Red apples score 1 point, and golden ones, which can appear from your fifth apple on, score 5 points and a coin. Your snake speeds up with every bite. Hit a wall or your own body and you lose one of 3 hearts, and shrink back to 3 squares. Skip the download and the microphone: it all happens in your browser. Can your best score make the world top 10?

Gobble The Apples
Each red apple scores 1 point and makes your snake one square longer.
Snap Up Golden Apples
From your fifth apple on, golden apples can appear. Each is worth 5 points and a coin.
Don't Bite Yourself
Hitting a wall or your own body costs one of your 3 hearts and shrinks you to 3 squares.
Snake Snack Tips
Turns line up in order, so two quick taps make a tight U-turn without waiting for the snake to move between them. Run along the edges and loop around the grid as you grow. Keeping the middle open leaves you room to turn. A crash shrinks you back to 3 squares, but your speed stays, so be ready to steer the moment you restart. Your snake gets faster with every apple and hits top speed at 28 apples, so plan your turns earlier as you grow. A golden apple is worth 5 red ones, so take a detour for it when the path is clear.
