About Hungry Frog
Hungry Frog is a free bug catching game for your browser. Your frog sits on a lily pad, and each tap or click shoots its tongue at that spot to snatch the bug there. It plays like the classic frog-and-fly games, with a 45 second clock and 3 hearts. Flies are worth 1 point, speedy dragonflies 3 points and golden flies 5 points and a coin. Catch bugs in quick succession and, from the third on, each one scores an extra point. Bees buzz around too, and swallowing one costs a heart. As the round goes on, bugs fly faster, leave sooner and bees turn up more often. It needs nothing to download and no microphone. Eat up and aim for the world top 10.
How To Play Hungry Frog
How To Play Hungry Frog
Tap The Bugs
Tap or click a bug to shoot your frog's tongue: a fly scores 1 point.
Hunt Big Snacks
Dragonflies are worth 3 points, and golden flies 5 points and a coin.
Don't Eat Bees
Swallowing a bee costs one of your 3 hearts.
Snap Them Fast
From your third quick catch in a row, every bug scores 1 extra point.
Hungry Frog Tips
--> Your tongue grabs whatever is at the spot you tap a moment later, so tap just ahead of fast dragonflies. --> Keep the combo going: it ends after 1.2 seconds without a catch, or as soon as you eat a bee. --> Bees get more common as the clock runs down, up to about 1 in 3 bugs, so look before you tap. --> Your frog fires one tongue at a time, so a wasted shot leaves you waiting. Pick your target, then tap. --> The tongue takes the bug nearest your tap, so never tap between a fly and a bee.
Chain quick catches: from the third, every bug earns a bonus point.
